Waterloo, Ontario
130 km, 70 km or 40 km

The Tour de Waterloo is growing again and will be a Gran Fondo style road cycling event in 2012. The Tour is a mass participation event geared to all kinds of roadies; racers, serious cyclists, the weekend road warrior and recreational riders. Choose the event to fit your aspirations ! Tour de Waterloo is an opportunity to ride the beautiful Waterloo region area roads supported by police & emergency services, marked routes, route marshals and rest stops for those who need to replenish water bottles or snacks.  Award winning food, barbecued on-site by Hog Tails Barbecue restaurant will be provided once you’ve completed your ride.

Experience cycling the rural beauty around Kitchener Waterloo and better yet spend the weekend in our beautiful community. Chances are good that you’ll ride by Old Order Mennonites driving horse and buggies on their way to Sunday services. The clip-clop of hooves will briefly drown out the the zing of bike chains connecting you to this unique region of Ontario. You’ll ride past historic buildings in the small, quaint towns of the region.

Proceeds from the ride will support the Grand River Hospital Foundation “Architects of Care” program. To better serve the hospital patients, the hospital is redeveloping a number of patient care areas including; Surgical Services, Mental Health Services, Outpatient Care and the Intensive Care Unit. Funds raised by the Foundation during this phase of Architects of Care will provide funding for equipment and furnishings for these renovated areas. So far we’ve raised in excess of $23,000 for the Foundation.

Register early as this event has tripled in size each year and we expect 2012 to be no different. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday June 24 at the Tour de Waterloo.
